The goal of the IHSS program is to allow participants to live safely in their home and avoid the need for a nursing home.
- IHSS is a service delivery option under the HCBS/Medicaid waiver program
- IHSS Target population is for new or current Medicaid HCBS-EBD recipients interested in direction of their own care
- Our agency provides Independent Living Core Services and In-Home Support Services
DEFINITION:
IHSS (In-Home Support Services) Attendees are care givers that provide those normal daily routines that the Home Care Consumer (client) can no longer provide for themselves and which are intended to enable that individual to remain safely and comfortably in their home.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Assisting with Adult Daily Living (ADL's) such as:
Homemaker Services EXAMPLES
Bathroom, Kitchen, Empty Trash, Meal Prep, Dishwashing, Bed Making, Laundry, Shopping, Dusting, Floor care
Personal Care Services EXAMPLES
Bathing, Accompanying, Protective Oversight, Medical Equipment, Medication Reminders, Positioning, Mobility, Transfers, Dressing, Hygiene, Bladder/Bowel, Eating
Health Maintenance EXAMPLES
Dressing, Exercise, Positioning, Accompanying, Medical Management, Mouth Care, Nail Care, Skin Care, Feeding, Transfers, Mobility, Medication Assistance, Respiratory Care, Bathing, Bowel, Bladder
