Argus Home Health's ILST program (Independent Living Skills Training Program) was developed in 1993, as part of the Colorado Medical Brain Injury Program (HCBS) Waiver

  • Our goal is to assist medically stable survivors in gaining and maintaining skills to live independently
  • Our program reduces the burden for caregivers, the need for institutionalization, as well as costs
  • Our trusted staff listens and provides solutions to help navigate their path to rehabilitation
  • Our creative and collaborative services give the support, guidance and hope to move forward
  • Our participants tend to function at a higher level with a better quality of life, when given the tools to remain independent and in their home

ILST

Independent Living Skills Training

Argus' ILST program provides services designed and directed at the development and maintenance of the program participant's ability to independently sustain themselves physically, emotionally and economically in the community. ILST services may be provided in the client's residence, in the community, or in a group living situation.

The Individual Rehabilitation Plan is a plan of care created by a process that is driven by the individual and can also include people chosen by the individual. as well as, the appropriate health care professionals and the designated ILST provider from Argus Home Health.

Our services include, but are not limited to the following skills:

  • Resource coordination including activities related to community transportation, community meetings, neighborhood resources and other public and private resources, including benefits coordination activities related to Medicaid
  • Recreation, including leisure and community integration activities

Training and Development of the following independent living skills:

  • Memory issues
  • Communication
  • Sensory motor development
  • Task completion
  • Time management
  • Household management
  • Safety awareness
  • Self-care
  • Interpersonal skill development
  • Socialization skills including appropriate social norms and values
  • Financial management including related activities, such as paying bills, balancing accounts and basic budgeting
  • Medication supervision and reminders
