Brain Injury Home Maker Services
For over 10 years, Argus Home Health Care has provided personal care services, and we have always included care for those individuals with an acquired brain injury. This program is set up to assist with the daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry for the newly injured.
This service, in combination with our Brain Injury Medical Services, works in tandem to support the transition from hospital to community.
The Argus Home Health Independent Living Skills Training (ILST) Program is designed to assist those recovering from an acquired brain injury, and offer them the opportunity to become self-sufficient in the community through one-to-one training. Through this program, the individual will gain or regain the ability to acquire, generalize, and maintain skills that are critical in supporting independence.
This program addresses each recipient individually, through the development of an Individual Rehabilitation Plan. This plan is developed with the ILST and the individual, to determine goals for the long and short term. Such goals may include household and financial management, communication, physical enhancement or community access, which includes public transportation and more specifically, mobility training.
Various strategies are used to assist the individual in grasping concepts, such as group skills training, social learning techniques, modeling, and the use of other creative natural supports. Our ILST receives supervision both administratively as well as clinically, on a regular basis.
